I wonder if when we feel in any degree greater or smaller than another if we are not removing ourselves from the presence of God.

When we tell someone they need not do something because it is done out of obligation and not from the heart I suspect this is a form of pride from the place of being lower than another. Likewise when we do something for another only out of politeness and our heart is not in it I suggest that, likewise, is pride placing ourselves above another.

  1. I wrote this because I had both experiences. It is tough to always be in the moment and be present when we do for others. Especially when it is someone from whom we hope to have connection or the return of love from. I think it is because we are afraid we may not receive the return of affection. But really, it is important to "be" in the moment.

  2. The flip side is that to look at what others do for us as if it has not been done through God really is to short change ourselves from his blessings. We do not need to look at how or why others do things for us. All things come from God. That was a big eye opener for me. It allowed me to unhook myself from mankind and a lot of the damage living in the world brought to me. If I see what comes my way as coming from God I will look to him for answers and resolution and understanding and he can give it. Most often mankind cannot. This is a part of learning to live by the Spirit. And it is an essential part of having "existence" and acknowledging our own existence both here and in the world to come. Such is my belief anyway. Please share your thoughts as well, thanks. Christa-Ann
